I want to dig into a little of what people are doing to make money online today.

There are a variety of methods and tactics that people could use to make money online, but how do you choose which is best for you? Should you try to as many methods as possible to be “diversified”, or should you focus on certain aspects to avoid being very spread out and scattered?

Well, speaking from experience (guilty as charged), I’ve tried the first approach and the best thing I’ve received is some great knowledge of how to work my ass off with very little money to show for it. As I now understand that being less scattered is the way to go, I still find myself chasing some methods that seem profitable.

So how do you actually know what market to target and what people actually want to buy from you?

Just as many successful internet marketers like Alex Jeffreys and Rich Schefren have said, you need to create your own opportunities from what people are telling you online. This concept is exactly opposite to what the majority of online entrepreneurs do; these unsuccessful internet marketers will constantly search for opportunities, but often lead to themselves chasing their own tail.

To be successful at creating a profitable business online, you need to think like a successful online entrepreneur. The thing that separates a failing/working too hard entrepreneur from one who could goes on vacations for weeks and feels comfortable that their business is running smoothly is very simple: you need understand what your customer’s pains are and help them.

There are a multitude of ways to figure out what your potential customers are dying to learn… which will result in money in your pocket. But forget about making any kind of money right now, because once you begin helping people by giving them extreme value, the money will follow.

It’s funny, because you’ll actually start living the life like someone I know. ;)

Here are some quick and simple places to find out what people are dying to learn:

When you visit sites like these and others in your niche, be sure to have a notebook handy and keep track of what people are asking questions about. After you’ve compiled a decent amount of information, organize it and see what questions are most popular and would be something you could create a video tutorial about, or any other type of product.

I’ve done this for a Twitter technique that I use to get a quick targeted list of followers. I simply made three tutorial videos showing what I did, and I’ve been able to grow a list of nearly 35 people in a couple days! It really didn’t take much effort on my part, it was just zeroing in on what people are dying to learn.

I hope these points help you out. Also, I want to hear what experiences you’ve had when trying to make money online… a discussion like this could help a ton of people get on the right track quickly! :)
