I was sitting around this morning eating a nice breakfast of egg whites, sautéed red onions, green bell peppers and tomatoes when I thought about something I recently did.
I wrote a check to myself for $100,000. AHHH!!!!
Unfortunately at this point I don’t have the cashflow to cash it in (unless someone breaks into my house and steals it!)
I just shot a quick video telling why I did this and how it could help get your mind straight in the internet marketing business.
Enjoy!

Hey Joe,
Ha ha at hiding the account number!
Aww what a sweet story, never knew Jim did that.
I think it’s a great idea, always good to set yourself some high goals, at least you know what your aiming for.
Hope the day comes soon when you can cash one just like it, Sally

Hey Sally,
Just covering my butt for the little cash I got in there =P
Yeah, it’s super motivating to read that story and see what he’s done with his career.
I think a lot of people in our industry set goals but don’t make them visible enough in their life, so it leads to a lack of motivation.
Hopefully this helps!

Joe:
What an interestong idea and a great constant reminder about your financial goals.
I am going to have to get my hands on “The Success Principles”.
What an awesome story about Jim Carrey.
I was just reading about creating Dream Charts over at http://bigredtomatocompany.co.uk/ and writing a check to myself is another item to add to my Dream chart.
Thanks,

Hey man,
Great video. I will see you again in San Diego in a couple of weeks!
One story I didn’t tell you is that when I was struggling to pay the bills doing this whole Internet marketing game I wrote a cheque for $200,000 to myself. I wrote it on the 13/04/09. I ended up being able to cash it in less than a year later.
The power of positivity and visualisation is incredible.
Most people fail at their goals because they give up too soon, NOT because they cannot achieve them.
I look forward to celebrating with you when you cash this in. I have no doubt you will.
See you soon buddy.
Josh
Yo dude, you know one of the VERY first things I’m going to do when I can cash this check is grab Heather and hop on a flight to NZ.
It will be a fun adventure to get to that point, too!
See ya next week bro!
Hey Joe,
Grat thinking. I’ve never managed to get into the zone with the visualisation thing but I need to keep trying as I know it’s powerful.
Would it work better if you wrote a hefty post dated cheque to me and you knew I was cashing it out on x date? Then you’d work REALLY hard!!
Cheers
Andy

HAHA, that’s freaking brilliant!
I’ll definitely work my ass off if I did that. That’d light a fire under me.
How about I just “mentally” write that check to you… hopefully that’ll have a similar effect.

hey, joe
thanks for the post. for now on I should take my goals more serious.Like they say start small.
I like it. Good one.
Didn’t Jack Canfield do something similar himself? He, or someone in his crowd put a big check on the ceiling or something, before anyone cared about his books.

Hey Mike, I’m sure that’s true. I’ve never heard that story myself.
I’m sure he’s done some big positivity things to allow him to get where he’s at now!
Hi Joe,
Good video and good point about a physical reminder of our goal.
I’ve never done that, but you’re spurring to.

Sounds like a good motivational technique. I’m not sure how effective it is for you to read aloud over video though. Just tell people to go buy the book and learn it themselves!
